I went to AZ this weekend with my best friend Taylor and I saw the Maine for the 21st time.  I know, I know I have seen them probably far too many times but each time is just as special and different as the last.  Seeing them in their hometown for the second time was even better than the last….such a small intimate venue.  I got to see the boys again and the wonderful Austin Gibbs who I haven’t seen in a few months.  and MAX! He said it was weird being on the opposite side of things.

The best part about the show was walking up to the m&g thing and having Pat immediately tell me they were coming to Vegas in May….and then Garrett talking about our secret and how that secret is now Pioneer giving me a big hug and thanking me for everything.  Or for being halfway down the table and Kennedy yelling “SAMUEL!” and that he saw me out of the corner of his eye and got so excited.  Or John walking from around the table to give me a big hug and say how great it was to see me.

Regardless of what people think of The Maine, or me….or my constant traveling for The Maine….seeing them do what they love, seeing how far they’ve come and knowing that they appreciate me showing up means more than anyone will ever know.

I absolutely love that they can make laugh at themselves. At the Pioneer tour they play a video about this and Garrett stood behind us and laughed the entire video. love them.

perfect.

Maine.

I went to see The Maine in LA and Anaheim last week for their Pioneer tour and you are all in for such an amazing album.  From start to finish it’s perfect and it’s so great to see the guys so happy with what they’ve created.

They also played a little video basically poking fun at everything they’ve been through…from their oversized neon clothing, to CSWS matching outfits, youtube videos about cupcakes lovers to the seriousness of B&W and signing to a major label.

After both shows were little table meet and greets and although they were short and rushed each of the guys made me feel so wonderful because they all remembered weird things that had happened with us (me&them meeting) in the past and to know that you’ve made an impact on a band that has had such an impact on you is truly amazing.

The first thing Garrett asked when I saw him is if I remembered the secret that he told me 7 months earlier which in a nutshell was Pioneer and it’s release and a lot of what went into it/what was behind it.  Something I kept from everyone for 7 months and that a majority of that conversation will stay private forever.

Kennedy then joined in on the conversation because he seemed incredibly shocked that Garrett had told someone about the record so long ago.

Pat and John always so gracious stood up and gave me big hugs and seemed so happy to see me…John mentioned how my hair gets longer and longer every time he sees me.

Pat and I joked about whether or not I’d be in Arizona at the end of this tour because I went to the last tour show in Arizona solely because him and Austin Gibbs told me I should.

Lastly Kennedy randomly asked me what the name he called me 5 months ago was because he just couldn’t for the life of him remember and he wanted to blurt it out the night before but thought I wouldn’t remember. (He randomly called me Samuel in June and it ended up being a big joke).

The Maine are one of (if not the single) most hardworking down to earth group of musicians I have ever met.  They take time to really focus on not only what they want out of their music but what we, the fans, might want.  I’ve officially seen them 20, yes 20 times and January will be 21.  I would go another 20 in a heartbeat. They are wonderful.

Disney World!

So Denney and I finally decided on a hotel for our Disney World trip and we chose the Disney World Caribbean Beach Resort. It looks so beautiful I can’t wait for January!  The pool is pirate themed with a water slide! (I know, I know it’ll be January but supposedly all the resort pools are heated year round)  There is also a beach basically at the entire property with hammocks you can just relax in. I have never stayed at a place like this.

Last night was date night with Denney.  We got dressed up, had dinner at Olive Garden and then went to see The Lion King since it’s ending here in Vegas in just a few months.  The show was wonderful and it’s always so nice to be able to spend time together without everyone else around.

He also brought me flowers..so cute. :)

It makes me sad that my friends in Vegas don’t like good music :(

Augustana is playing FREE shows tonight, tomorrow and saturday at one of the hotels and I can’t find anyone who wants to go. So sad…good thing I’ve gotten used to going to shows alone, can’t miss Augustana.

I was at Kohl’s yesterday because my mom had some Kohl’s cash and I found this dress.  Tried it on and it fit perfect…best part is that it was on sale for $6.  I have no where to wear the dress yet but it is so cute on and I couldn’t pass up the deal.
